Sheriff Chris Kaber
Chris Kaber grew up in Klamath Falls and graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1977.
He married his wife, Vickie, in 1979 and worked for the Weyerhaeuser Corporation for eight years while they started their family. They have three children and eight grandchildren.
He started working for the Oregon State Police in 1987 in Hermiston, Oregon as a patrol trooper and then transferred back to his hometown of Klamath Falls in 1990.
In his 26-year career with the OSP, Kaber was a trooper, resident trooper (Rocky Point), patrol sergeant, crash reconstructionist, detective sergeant, and drug team supervisor. He ended his career as a regional polygraph examiner with the Oregon State Police before retiring in 2013.
After three years running a private polygraph business, he decided to help his community in the best way he could by running for the position of County Sheriff. He strives to develop working relationships with all public safety agencies, county and state partners, businesses, and as many non-profit groups as possible.
Chris loves to fish (whenever he can), is a member of a local community church, and is the current Klamath County Sheriff.
