Sheriff Chris Kaber

Chris grew up in Klamath Falls and graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1977.

He married his wife Vickie in 1979 and worked for the Weyerhaeuser Corporation for eight years while they started their family. They have three grown children and ten grandchildren.

He started working for the Oregon State Police in 1987 in Hermiston, Oregon as a patrol trooper and then transferred back to his hometown of Klamath Falls in 1990.

In his 26th year career with the OSP he was a trooper, resident trooper (Rocky Point), patrol sergeant, crash reconstructionist, detective sergeant, drug team supervisor, and he ended his career as a regional polygraph examiner with the Oregon State Police retiring in 2013.

After three years running a private polygraph business, he made the decision to help his community in the best way he could and he ran for the position of County Sheriff. He strives to develop working relationships with all public safety agencies, county and state partners, businesses, and as many non-profit groups as possible.

Chris loves to fish whenever he can, is a member of a local community church, and he is the current Klamath County Sheriff.
