Winter, 2009 -- The Spray Rodeo and Wheeler County Fair and Rodeo went off without a hitch. Aside from several MIP's and a DUII, there were no accidents or MVA's. The sheriff's office would like to thank all our reserves for their diligence and long hours in keeping our county and roads safe.

In July, Trevor Stockton (9), was walking down Main Street in Fossil. He noticed a small baggy with a white crystal substance inside. Later, Trevor and his grandfather went back and "very carefully" retrieved the bag and its content, also calling 911. Deputy Mike Garibay took the substance which later tested positive for crystal methamphetamine.
